Ordering Signals

Wherever possible I prefer to build from the prototype using as many photos as possible, I can only work with the photos I either have, can find or you supply. In many instances the prototype has disappeared from existence and the only known dimension is the size of the signal arm. Angles, parallex and perspective mean that is likely that some compromise may be needed and of course some things do not scale well. For instance in many cases a signal may be worked by a chain on pulleys or indeed wire on pulleys. A compromise may be needed to achieve a working model. In the smaller scales to achieve a certain amount of robustness sometimes a slightly overscale part or method may be required.

All signals are built to order, primarily of metal, mainly brass with some whitemetal and resin decoration (finials and lamps in some cases).
