Turntables

I am doubtful of the long-term dimension stability of some of wooden kits, most of which do not include important details such as rivet head and in some cases laddering and handrails.

Consequently my specification includes the turntable deck and sides built  from either Nickel Silver sheet or Copperclad board with etched or metal detail, ladders and railings (where appropriate) and rivet/bolt detail. Soldered construction. The only wood is used for the well and any planking.

Motorisation

Various options are available including a fully indexable stepper motor system. Prices vary from about £50.00 (for a simple drive) and upwards depending on the options chosen.

Stepper Motor Option Due to complexity I am only prepared to offer the indexable stepper motor option, if I supply the power transformer and I set up the route stops on the table, these can always be adjusted to suit thereafter.

Experience has taught me that failure to do this will probably lead to disappointment.

Normally the bridge will take the shortest route, however this is not necessarily prototypical, so if rotation is only required on one direction (usually anti-clockwise), this is possible but  I will need to know this in advance.
